The process of placing dental implants typically involves the following steps:
- Initial Consultation: The patient will have an initial consultation with a dentist or oral surgeon to determine if they are a suitable candidate for dental implants.

- Abutment Placement: Once the implant has fully integrated with the jawbone, an abutment, which is a connector piece, is placed on top of the implant.
- Restoration Placement: The final step is to place the replacement tooth, which is usually a dental crown, on top of the abutment. This can be done after a period of healing, usually several weeks.
The whole process can take several months and multiple visits to the dentist, but the end result is a stable and natural-looking replacement for the missing tooth.
